By downloading, installing, or using Nomima ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Nomima is provided free of charge. Every feature is included at no cost — there is no paid tier, license fee, or subscription.
Nomima is built exclusively for Apple Silicon Macs. It will not run on Intel-based Macs. Please verify your hardware before downloading.

Not sure which Mac you have? Go to Apple menu → About This Mac. If "Chip" shows M1, M2, M3, or M4, you're good. If it shows an Intel processor (e.g. "Intel Core i7"), Nomima will not run on your machine.
To check your macOS version: Apple menu → System Settings → General → About. macOS 14 Sonoma or later is recommended for best performance.
Nomima grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App, free of charge, on any Apple Silicon Macs that you own or control.
Nomima is completely free. Every block and feature — including notebook publishing, the knowledge graph, and Summon (AI) — is included at no cost. There is no time limit, no credit card, no license fee, and no subscription.
To download, you provide an email address and we send you a personal download link. We use your email only to deliver that link and occasional product updates; you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Because the App is free, there are no payments and therefore no refunds. If Nomima does not run on your supported hardware due to a defect, contact support@nomima.io and we'll do our best to help.
Nomima's AI — Summon — works on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) basis and connects only to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. There is no local or self-hosted model option. You supply the API key; Nomima stores it in your Mac's macOS Keychain and never transmits it to Nomima's servers.
When you use Summon, the relevant note content is sent directly from your Mac to the AI provider's API — Nomima does not proxy, log, or see these conversations. Your use of any AI provider's service is governed solely by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

AI runs only through the provider you configure with your own API key. Nomima has no involvement in the provider's operation or output.
All notes, tags, attachments, and vault data are stored locally on your Mac in a SQLite database inside your App Support folder. Nomima never syncs or uploads your content in the background; it leaves your device only through features you explicitly use (AI and publishing, below).
Nomima collects no analytics, usage telemetry, or crash data. The only network requests the App makes are:

Updates are provided free of charge. We may add, improve, or retire features over time as the App evolves.
Updates are delivered through an in-app update mechanism. You are not required to update, but older versions may eventually lose access to certain features (such as AI provider compatibility) as third-party APIs evolve.
We may add, modify, or remove features in any update. We will not remove core free-tier functionality from users who have come to rely on it without reasonable notice.
All rights, title, and interest in the App — including its code, design, trademarks, and branding — are owned exclusively by Nomima. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.
Your content is yours. Nomima makes no claim to the notes, files, or data you create within the App. You retain full ownership of everything stored in your vault.
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your vault data.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nomima and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at support@nomima.io.
